Friends of the Fox: Classic Movie Series | Wizard of Oz
Join the Friends of the Fox for this 1939 musical classic on the big screen. Judy Garland plays young Dorothy Gale who is swept away with her dog Toto to the magical Land of Oz. Wanting to return home, Dorothy follows the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City to find the Wizard, hopeful he can help her. Along the way, she meets a Scarecrow, a Tin Man, and a Cowardly Lion, who hope the Wizard can help them, too.
“The Wizard of Oz” won two Academy Awards and was one of the inaugural 25 films added to the United States National Film Registry. The film, its music, quotes, and villain, are included in numerous American Film Institute 100 Years and Top 10 lists. "Over the Rainbow" is considered the best song in film.
