Indianapolis IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced the Team Trouble located in Stockton CA has been added to the record-setting roster of teams set to begin to play in November. “We are very excited about adding this team,” stated ABA co-founder Joe Newman. “It is a well organized existing team with excellent players and outstanding leadership. Their feeling and ours was why wait until next year?”

The team will be owned by James Paul, who was born in Bakersfield, CA and raised in Stockton, CA. James played football, basketball, and was on the swimming team at Bear Creek High School in Stockton. James also attended Kern Valley High School in Lake Isabella, CA where he met his wife Norene and started their journey as a family.

After obtaining an Associates of Science in Agricultural Business from San Joaquin Delta College, James went on to graduate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor’s of Science in International Business management, from the College of Agriculture.

Having an extensive career with multiple corporations in the fresh produce industry, James and Norene moved back to his hometown of Stockton after the birth of their first child. Now James is the Senior category manager of Asparagus for Grower Direct Marketing, a large-scale international fresh produce supplier specializing in fresh Cherries from CA and WA, as well as fresh Asparagus from CA and MX. He is also the Director of Sales and Marketing for Greg Paul Produce Sales which specializes in fresh Potatoes and Asparagus from CA. James is a well-known source of high-quality fresh produce offerings to retailers and foodservice suppliers, worldwide.

In his spare time, James is also a very competitive Race car driver. He started driving in 2014 after finding that he was very talented in this sport. This is when he decided to start racing in the top classes of grassroots sports car racing in the nation, not only as a competitor but as a hobby with his father. NASA’s Super Unlimited, and SCCA’s Prototype 1. Finding success his rookie year, he won the SFR SCCA Championship going head to head with teammate and National Champion, Jim Davenport. James will be competing for a National Championship Title in 2018 in a no rules, no restrictions format of Extreme Sports Car Racing.

James is eager and excited to bring his passion to the ABA and the Stockton Community, allowing the multitudes of basketball fans in the community an amazing opportunity to enjoy a fast-paced, high Octane professional basketball experience here in their hometown.

SCCA Championship and will be competing for a National Championship Title in 2018 in a no rules, no restrictions format of Extreme Sports Car Racing.
