Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Doobie Brothers

Richter Entertainment Group (REG) will bring two icons of American Rock history to perform at Stockton Arena for the first time on Friday, October 5th, 2012, Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Doobie Brothers.

Lynyrd Skynyrd Beyond the tragedy, the history, the raging guitars and the killer songs, ultimately, Lynyrd Skynyrd is about an indomitable will. About survival of spirit; unbowed, uniquely American, stubbornly resolute. Driven by core members Gary Rossingotn (guitar), Johnny Van Zant (vocals) and Rickey Medlocke (guitar), along with longtime drummer Michael Cartellone, Lynyrd Skynyrd have recorded their most recent album, God & Guns, (“Under duress, as usual,” according to Van Zant) that very much lives up to the legacy begun some 35 years ago in Jacksonville, Florida, and halted for a decade by the 1977 plane crash that killed three band members, including Ronnie VanZant and Steve Gaines. Since then, the band tragically lost Allen Collins, Leon Wilkeson and Hughie Thomasson, yet they rock on.

The Doobie Brothers As one of the most popular California pop/rock bands of the 70’s, the Doobie Brothers evolved from a mellow, post-hippie boogie band to a slick, soul-inflected pop band by the end of the decade. Along the way, the group racked up a string of gold and platinum albums in the U.S., along with a number of radio hits like “Listen to the Music,”, “Black Water,” and “China Grove.”
